ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Roberto Scipioni – Research Scientist, SINTEF Energy
Roberto Scipioni is a research scientist from the Energy Storage group at SINTEF Energy Research (Norway). He has 12+ years of experience in research of energy conversion and storage technologies for mobile and stationary application. His interests include advanced materials for Li-ion, redox flow batteries, polymer electrolyte- and solid oxide- fuel cells.
He is also the Technical Leader of the European Technology and Innovation Platform Batteries Europe, and he is currently coordinating the preparation of the Technology Roadmap and Strategic Research Agenda on battery technologies.
Niina Helistö – Senior Scientist, VTT
Niina Helistö has been working at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland since 2011. She received her M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering at Aalto University, Finland in 2012. Her research interests include energy system and electricity market modelling as well as planning of energy systems under operational constraints. Currently, she is also pursuing a PhD and the topic of her thesis is ‘Evaluating the value of flexibility in energy system investments’. Since 2021, she has been acting as a co-operating agent of the international network IEA Wind TCP Task 25, which focuses on the design and operation of energy systems with large amounts of variable generation.
Partha Das – R&D Energy and Climate Strategy, VITO
Dr. Partha Das is presently working as a R&D Professional Energy and Climate Strategy at the Flemish institute for technological research (VITO). Partha has over eight years of experience in energy and power system model development and extensive scenario analysis targeting low-carbon energy transition pathways. Partha is experienced in executing projects related to power market operation, climate change mitigation, greenhouse gas inventory, emission reduction, renewable energy integration, and energy resource assessment studies. At VITO, Partha is developing mathematical models for Belgian energy system using TIMES for meeting long-term climate change mitigation objectives.
